Memory of flow and self-organization in jammed suspensions #
Particle-based simulations of dense suspensions and jammed soft solids provide unique insight into self-organization during shear-thickening and upon flow cessation. I'll discuss how spatio-temporal analysis of microscopic structures, stresses and rearrangements reveals the origin of stress transmission, stress fluctuations, and residual stresses.
